Krazy Coupon Club's Grandma's Recipe For Scotch Eggs! YUM!!

If You Have never heard of Scotch Eggs Then it is time to try Krazy Coupon Club's Grandma's Recipe! These are fairly simple to make and turn out delicious!

It is Time to get started! So look below for the list of what you will need:

1 Quart Of Oil For Frying - (See below for baking option)
8 Boiled Eggs
2 Pounds Of Pork Sausage
1 Cup Of All Purpose Flour
4 Eggs- Beaten (My Grandma's Recipe Calls for 4 but you can easily use 2 or 3)
4 Cups Of Seasoned Bread Crumbs (I use Panko Plain, it seems to give them a nice Crunch Coating)

Beat your eggs in a medium size bowl because Scotch Eggs are larger then a regular egg- remember each has a 1/4 pound of sausage wrapped around it!

Make a sausage patty then place an egg on it and start to work the sausage meat around your Hard Boiled egg.

It will look like this when finished and you will not see any of the hard boiled egg in the center.

When all 8 are completed then it is time to move on to the next step...

Lightly flour each ball, then...

Place the lightly floured sausage ball in egg yolk immediately after rolling in egg yolk roll in bread crumbs.

They are now ready to be fried! I usually keep the heat at medium when frying them on the stove, you must flip them when they start turning brown and I cook them for 35 minutes and keep flipping to make sure the sausage is well done. To be honest most of the time I will just put in the deep fryer to save time!  ***If you are not into frying these can also be baked - bake these in the oven at 325 for 45 they still get awesome!***

Okay I just placed them in the hot oil....

They are frying away.....

They should look like this when you flip them.

I pull them out and place them on a plate that is covered by 2 paper towels to soak up the oil. I let them sit for 5 minutes.

I cut them in half after they have cooled off for 5 minutes, I place them on a plate. Now you can add your favorite dip to the side. My grandmother's recipe calls for spicy mustard on the side. I plate these for dinner in a bed of lettuce and then drizzle honey mustard dressing across them and... dinner is served ;)
